The Soul of a Dream, part 1

How hard can it be to find the most hateful spirit in the universe? Unfortunately, quite a bit, because our heroes, The Pink Hero of Dreamland Kirby and Kishin Slayer(s) Maka and Soul, were having an enormously difficult time in doing so. Kirby had taken the form of a boy, apparently 12 years of age, and had pink hair, a pink shirt with a yellow boomerang insignia, red shorts and shoes, and a curious hat that lookes like a duck, save for the large blade in the middle. Maka was a girl, about 17 years old, with dull green hair in small pigtails, and wore a black coat to her calves, a yellow vest and green tie, and a red plaid skirt. In her hands was Soul, a boy around 18, who had taken the form of a scythe. It was about one year ago when she had slain Asura, the Kishin. Right now, they had a worse target: Zero. Imagine the most terrible, horrible thing in the world, and imbed that thought into a white, bloody ball. Unfortunately, his tracking was made hindered by the taking of a new form, and a skill that witches use to hide themselves from Weapon Meisters like Maka called Soul Protect. All they could do was search. But they were not alone, for some friends were tagging along. They included Black*Star, a very powerful and haughty boy, his weapon Tsubaki, who was kind and forgiving, Meta Knight, who was tagging along with them, who was mysterious and powerful. Then there was Death the Kid, a perfectionist of symmetry, who was the son of the Grim Reaper, Lord Death, his weapons Liz and Patty, sisters who were anything but "symetrical", Kind Dedede, a fat penguin king weilding a mechanized hammer, and his loyal Waddle Dee, who wore a blue bandanna and carried a spear. Together, these three set out to find the leader of the Dark Matter to destroy It.


*scene one, the rooftops of Death City*

Maka sighed to herself. She wondered if this "Zero" character actually existed. She couldn't sense much, but there was this ominous feeling, a blanket of hate and sorrow, which convinced her otherwise.
"Can you sense anything?" Kirby asked.
"No, nothing I can pinpoint. But there is this bad feeling."
"Well, at least we know that it's in the area."
Soul was very suspicious. Something was off. It wasn't cool that he and Maka were following someone with that odd get-up. But if Maka trusted him, he'd be with her the whole way.
They continued on in the dark, hoping to get closer. They had no idea how close It was.

Something was bugging Tsubaki. The swordsman accompanying them made her uneasy. It's not natural for someone to wear a mask. She couldn't see the sword he had, or even much of a scabbard. Bit they continued onward, searching for this evil entity. In her heart, she knew Black*Star would want to fight it. Another chance for him to surpass the gods. That's how she knew he saw it. But something felt wrong, a bad feeling in her gut. She looked back at at Meta Knight, to make sure he was following them. He was, but leathery wings are never something you want to see on someone pursuing you. She held in a shriek, but remained uneasy, as they searched through the night.

Kid was very happy. Both of his companions, save for using only one weapon apiece, were perfectly symetrical. But that was not stopping their quest. King Dedede was also not too happy. He didn't ask for this! He barely wanted to be a part of this! But he knew very well what Zero was capable of, and he had a vendetta from multiple possessings of his body from It's underlings. Waddle Dee worried for the King. It was never a good sign to see him displeased. Hopefully, It wouldn't take the King again.

As rain began to fall, the ten heroes continued onward. There would be little rest when Zero remained alive.
